I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hawkins and Ms. Nathalia. This place truly feels like family. I went in with severe chest pain after doing Pilates and working out. I had first gone to an urgent care on Carrollton, where the assistant asked me questions and then came back saying the doctor told me to go to the ER because it “might be my heart.” The doctor never even came to see me. When I asked about doing an EKG, they said they had one but that I would still need to go to the ER anyway no matter is the results. I left feeling scared and just wasted my time. Then I went to the urgent care on Canal, and the experience was completely different. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with kindness and care. Ms. Nathalia is an incredible human being—so warm, attentive, and genuine. She talked with me, listened to me, made me laugh until I had tears in my eyes, and truly made me feel comfortable. She even gave me the warmest hug before the doctor came in. Dr. Hawkins is the kind of doctor you rarely find anymore. He took his time, listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and even showed me everything on his computer so I could understand what was going on. He reassured me that my pain was not heart-related but a pectoral muscle strain, and he prescribed the right medication. He even offered to do an EKG for my peace of mind, but he said I dont need to. After how scared I felt at the previous urgent care, his calm and thorough approach made all the difference. That same day, I brought my daughter in after she hurt her leg playing volleyball. Once again, Ms. Nathalia treated her like family—talking to her, laughing with her, and making her feel completely at ease. Dr. Hawkins listened patiently to everything my daughter had to say and took great care of her. Even when we were leaving, the receptionist and security staff checked on us to make sure we were okay. This is what healthcare should feel like—compassionate, respectful, and personal. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Hawkins, Ms. Nathalia, and the entire team.

Visited here to be seen for a an ailment. Upon arrival I had to wait about five minutes due to a patient ahead of me who needed lots of attending to. Then after I sat down, I had to wait another 10-15 minutes, maybe longer. I wasn't feeling well and kept falling asleep! They managed to figure out what was going on and provided a prescription that did the trick. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I gave four stars due to wait time!

The security guard, receptionist and nurse were great. The place was clean and I didn’t have to wait long. Doctor Osei Prempeh was an absolute joke. I went to this location because I needed an Xray of my hand. He told me that even after 6 weeks of pain getting worse, a swollen knuckle and lack of grip strength he didn’t see a reason to xray. The diagnosis he gave he was unsure of if that was the actual problem and was speaking with hesitation and questioning. Apparently ibuprofen is the go to for injuries that you don’t have time to actually look at and or when you’re unsure of what to diagnosis someone with. Don’t go to this location unless you have absolutely no other choice. Smh…..

I had a very frustrating & embarrassing experience with a tampon that I could not remove for several hours. I called several other urgent care clinics in the area & they advised that I go to the ER or my gynecologist. I called Ochsner Urgent Care & they were willing to try but could not make any guarantees. Upon my arrival, the staffs were very nice & empathetic. The doctor was able to dislodge the tampon & no one made me feel judged by asking any uncomfortable questions. I felt very relieved & grateful.

My first visit and it went so well!!! While there was a wait the entire staff, seriously every employee was so courteous, professional and seemed committed to their job! I have new insurance and I am thrilled that it includes an urgent care blocks from house and my pharmacy on the opposite corner!!!
