The Urgent Care - Mid-City

I would not recommend this urgent care on Carrollton. I came in with severe chest pain after working out; something that should be taken seriously. The assistant asked me questions, then came back and told me the doctor said I needed to go to the ER because it “might be my heart.” The issue is the doctor never even came in to see me. I asked if they could at least do an EKG, and I was told they had one, but that I would still need to go to the ER anyway. So no proper evaluation was done, and I was sent away scared without even being examined. That is not acceptable. Because I didn’t feel comfortable with that, I left and went to another urgent care on Canal and the difference was unbelievable. At the Canal location, I was treated like family from the moment I walked in. The staff actually cared. Ms. Nathalia took the time to talk to me, listen to me, calm me down, and made me feel safe and supported. Dr. Hawkins actually came in, examined me thoroughly, asked detailed questions, explained everything clearly, and reassured me that my pain was a pectoral muscle strain, not a heart issue. He even offered an EKG for peace of mind. That is what real care looks like. If you’re coming here expecting to actually see a serious/experienced doctor and be properly evaluated, you may want to reconsider. I strongly recommend saving your time and going to the urgent care on Canal instead, where they truly care about their patients and treat you like a human being, not just a liability.

After a long wait the intake nurse in back was the best & wish she worked closer! So gentle with words, caring & made us both feel valued. Nurse Practitioner came in seemed in a hurry; when my daughter (who just tested positive for the flu & strep and currently with a fever) asked for an extra mask she refused to give her one. 1st time being declined a mask when your patient is sick! She came in with a mask on & simply didn’t want to be without.

Staff was nice but their reception area is disgusting. It smells terrible and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in far too long. The state of the reception area is obvious so it is being ignored which doesn't say good things about the location as a whole as a medical facility.

The nurse practitioner, Amanda, could not have been better. She was clearly experienced and extremely competent. I highly recommend the midcity location. All of the staff were extremely professional.

I went in today worried I had a small ear infection. They looked and noticed not only did I have it in the ear I was concerned with but the other ear as well. The wait time was so so small. The staff was amazingly kind. I made an appointment ahead of time and by doing so I received an email with the forms to fill out so that when I arrived I just had to walk in, wait maybe 3 mins and then be seen by a caring physician and staff. I was in and out within maybe 40 mins (max) with meds sent to my pharmacy and issue addressed. Would highly recommend
