⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a great experience with Melissa, the phlebotomist at Atrium Health University! She drew my blood in less than ten minutes, quick, efficient, and incredibly professional. From start to finish, she was kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely comfortable with friendly small talk that helped ease my nerves. What really stood out was how proactive she was, she explained when I would receive my results without me even having to ask. Because of her speed and expertise, I was able to get in and out and still make it to work on time. Melissa truly knows her craft and deserves recognition (and honestly, a raise!). I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend her to anyone needing labs done.

When you suffer an unexpected fall and a broken wrist while out of town, you can only hope for timely, efficient and compassionate care at the closest ER. For me, that care came through Atrium Health University City, in Charlotte, NC. From the moment my husband and I walked in until we checked out a few hours later, everyone we encountered treated us with respect and attention to details, making a difficult, painful situation much more bearable. So here is a shout-out to the security guard and receptionist who did their jobs kindly but thoroughly; to RN K., who brought me an ice bag for my wrist, some pain meds and a warm blanket; to PA A., who asked the right questions and listened closely to my answers; to A., who took x-rays so very gently; and to C., who splinted my break with care and a good sense of humor. From both my husband and me, a BIG thank you for being such good professionals in our time of need!

Sitting in front of the nurses (gossip girl) station. Not one addressed us. No doctor, no room. There are rooms available. Been here for hour and a half. Triage is the only thing good about this place which is why they get the one star. Do better Atrium!

I need to start by saying that there are numerous kind and compassionate physician, physicians assistants, nurses, clinicians, lab employees, custodians, and staff in general at this hospital who have shown that they are truly dedicated to helping people feel better. However, I encourage all of the medical gems and rockstars of University City to speak up when you notice your colleagues are not consistent with your philosophy towards treating sick and vulnerable people, and help weed out the subpar and “bad eggs” to bring your hospital reputation up to your standards and the standards that the community around this facility deserves. It truly is a shame that in the end this is why all the good going on at University City Hospital gets overlooked. Now as far as a score of 1, it is because of the arrogance and disrespect that my family member received by an attending physician on more than one occasion at this hospital that makes me fear for my family member’s choice to live in this community and have Atrium hospitals as a medical emergency option. Shame on the directors and administrators of Atrium University City Hospital for never following up on complaints and concerns brought on by former patients and their families. Atrium Hospitals as a whole medical care system, why would you even bother to have an accountability and equity service where patients can share concerns about their care when you don’t follow up or hold employees accountable for the complaints against them? All other professions hold their staff members accountable. To the parents of current and potential future students of UNC Charlotte, I highly advise you to come up with a plan , heaven forbid your child has an emergency medical situation, and research care beyond an emergency room at every hospital in the area. If I would have done so, I would have insisted that my child would have chosen a different university all together. I am terrified for the safety of my UNCC Niner after dealing with Atrium Health Hospitals and you should be too, especially if they have a diagnosed medical condition that might warrant more trips to a hospital than most.

Worst hospital ever. The emergency department does not know what they're doing. No communication whatsoever and made it feel like we weren't important enough to be properly evaluated. If it was life or death, they didnt care. My partner went inside to get "attended" and the nurses didn't even allow me to follow to speak on my partners behalf because she was not well to speak and then they gave her a nausea pill and discharged us without even telling us anything. We waited HOURS until I asked the receptionist what's the next step and told us she was discharged??? Unprofessional as hell. Everybody rude as hell
