Joanne 6 months agoI was quite frightened, I needn't have been. Everyone was so very caring and professional. I loved the PA I saw, she was super competent at the same time so friendly and kind. Finally everybody laughed when I showed them the photo of my cat in the fridge.😆
Sarah Wine a month agoI had just arrived in the Tulsa area for a family vacation and needed an x-ray. The X-Ray Tech who roomed me and took care of me during my stay was phenomenal. It took a while to get the radiology report, but she checked in on me several times while I waited. She even recommended a great place to take my family for dinner that night. While it wasn't an ideal way to start vacation, the whole team there was nice and made it a good experience. And even better yet, nothing was broken!
Lyndsay Hasbrouck 4 months agoTook our 3 year old for an ear infection today. Special thanks to the nurse Natalya she treated our little one like family. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes give or take and our prescriptions were called in immediately. Best urgent care in Tulsa
Cathy Carnahan 5 months agoThe woman at the front desk was rude. When I came in, she was looking at her computer and never looked up and acknowledged I was there. A simple welcome in, I'll be with you in just a moment would have been great. Then she very bluntly said, "ya got an appointment?" I replied no, I do not. She then slapped the clipboard through the window and said very rudely, "fill this out." I did so, and returned it and she said she needed my license and insurance csrd. So I gave those to her, still unsure why she is so rude and seemingly annoyed I came in. After she looked at my insurance card and realized I am an Ascension employee, her tune changed a little. But she was still very rude, unprofessional, and needs a lesson in customer service. The RN and mid-level provider who cared for me once I went back were great. But goodness, that front office lady needs to find another job.
Alfredo 5 months agoSo I was under the impression that Urgent Care centers in Oklahoma prioritize patients based on the severity of their conditions rather than strictly first-come, first-served. I guess this is not the case. I had a severe case of a stomach bug or possibly food poisoning. I was severely dehydrated to the point where I physically could not get out of my vehicle. I eventually mustered the strength, and as employees walked past me to get to their vehicle, none asked me if I was ok or needed a wheelchair. I ultimately had to sit down on the bench at the front entrance and call the urgent care office because my legs and arms severely cramped up to the point where I could not move. I felt a tingling in my face, and I lost feeling in my hands. All of this occurred as I was making my way towards the entrance. I needed to call the office for assistance. I was starting to get scared at this point, and I think that the front desk employee sensed my urgency over the phone. She came out as I was sitting on the bench. She asked me to walk up to the entrance to get into the wheelchair. The entrance was not iced, and there was salt on the ground. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, and maybe it’s just a policy thing. I go on to tell her that my legs and arms are severely cramping to the point where I cannot move, and it hurts. She could totally see that I was terrified because I had no idea what was going on. I’ve gotten food poisoning before and had a stomach virus, but never had my body cramp up like that. I basically limped to the wheelchair. After I explained every symptom I had, with almost no energy left, this dark-haired, glasses-wearing, older front desk female employee told me I would have to wait a long time for service. She told me this after she took my insurance and driver's license. She then ignorantly asked me to fill out a paper sheet, and I had to remind her that I literally cannot open my hands because I am severely cramping and cannot move. It basically felt like I was diagnosing myself. After being in the wheelchair for what felt like an eternity, in my condition, I finally just asked for my license back. I told her that, in my understanding, urgent care has an obligation to triage patients with the worst conditions first. She said, “No, all of these people got here before you.” The saddest part is that this good Samaritan told the front desk employee to let me go ahead of her because she could see that I was in pain and could not move. I reminded this front desk worker that I could not open up my hands and that my face was tingling, and I think that it may be due to dehydration from my stomach bug. She reminded me that I was able to drive all the way here and that I could drive to the emergency room to seek more immediate care. I responded with, I did drive here, and when I was almost collapsing out of my vehicle, I thought that I was going to be able to get care for a stomach virus or food poisoning. I still didn’t know what it was. Yes, I should’ve gone to the emergency room. My symptoms got exponentially worse as soon as I arrived at the urgent care facility. If I needed fluids because I couldn’t keep anything down, I feel this is something urgent care could’ve handled promptly. This front desk employee saw that I was in pain and experiencing a large amount of discomfort. No one else in the room appeared to be in pain or discomfort. I would ask Ascension St. John to please train this employee. If urgent care facilities don’t have to triage care, then I’m happy to admit I was wrong. Suffice it to say, I won't be back here. I was clearly experiencing something terrible, and I thought that urgent care would be able to accommodate. I guess I was just wrong in thinking that urgent care facilities in Oklahoma provide triaged care. Lesson learned.
