I arrived at 8:15 a.m. on a Sunday morning and had not been to an ER in over 10 years. The experience I had was amazing! My intake took only about 10 minutes, and after a short 10-minute wait, a nurse came to see me. Just 12 minutes later, I was in a room being seen by a doctor. Every employee, from the moment I walked in until the time I left, was respectful, professional, and kept me informed about what was happening next. They explained all of the tests, answered my questions, and always asked if I needed anything before leaving the room. The emergency room was also very clean and well-maintained. The entire experience was completely different from what I expected based on my ER visit 10 years ago. Thank you, DBER! You were amazing and helped me with both my injury and infection. I am truly grateful for the excellent care I received

My doctor sent me over because I looked terrible. I felt terrible and the upper right quadrant hurt terribly. I also had crackling in my lungs. A few weeks ago my daughter had very similar issues. They did an ultrasound and a mono test and saw that she had mono gallbladder. Apparently it swells and is extremely painful. We stayed in the hospital for 4 days with her for that. I mentioned this to the inbound nurse, and then that was all that was checked. I kept trying to give them the paperwork my doctor sent me with telling of my extensive medical history. Not one person looked at it. No one checked my lungs, or would even stay in the curtain area long enough to hear that I have multiple autoimmune conditions, including asthma and low IGa. They did an ultrasound and a cbc. Those looked fine. I could have stayed and waited another 4 hours to get a CT, like my doctor recommended in the paperwork no one bothered to look at. I said forget it- went home and got the CT yesterday, and will get a chest x ray tomorrow. They will not look for anything else than what you think it may be. Where are the Dr. House’s that actually want to get to the bottom of it? They were all too busy at their computers. Most likely doing uselesss paperwork for the insurance companies. It really is not the medical profession’s fault. They will not get paid with out the useless paperwork, but people are not getting the treatment they deserve because of it.

The emergency room check in and intake staff are horrible (with the exception of one lady). Once in the back rooms (pre andmittance) the experience was superior. All the nurses and staff were helpful and attentive. The doctors and nurses are knowledgeable and take their time to help you. The intake staff are rude, uncaring, desensitized and negligent. I can’t give 5 stars due to their mistreatment. I was there twice in one week and the experience was the same both times. The bathrooms are filthy but when I pointed out a soiled commode they were glad to have it handled. This was in the back area of emergency. One CT nurse was nice, but not the one who also worked in intake. I was in a lot of pain due to a kidney stone. At one point the intake nurse who handles medication (before you get a room with a curtain) removed my medicated drip and told me to go to the lobby. He said it wasn’t helping me anyway. If he’d checked he would have seen than the IV wasn’t flowing. He also said I couldn’t talk to other staff because I had asked for help. It seemed as if they slowed down intentionally. It was abusive of him to remove that medicated IV pouch. He also seemed mad at me when I needed to use the restroom and said you can go but you’ll have to lower your IV pole and it won’t drip. It wasn’t until I asked for someone from administration that they started to help me properly. Side note- Why are we still integrating the well patients with the ill?

My ER doctor, Dr. Mark Roehr, was a breath of fresh air. He sat with me and explained, in detail, what I need to do for my health moving forward. Summer is the best Nurse at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital! She went out of her way to ensure she was able to grab a vein (using an ultrasound machine) for an IV! She rolled me out to my vehicle at 4:11am. Thank you 😊!!

Jaime in respiratory, Tran in nurse and Adrianna nurse in icu top health workers at banner mesa dobson for sure you guys were amazing and hard workers. thank you, you made the hospital time spent there less worrying. your hard work and patient service didnt go unnoticed. Thank you for helping my dad get back home and safe.
