Came in for help or direction for my bipolar/schizoeffective disorder adult son. Only offered a resource paper with half the resource numbers not answered or discontinued due to budget cuts. Mental health is a joke in Sacramento and all of California. Gavin Newsom talks a lot but does nothing about mental illness. We need better laws for parents trying to help their children regardless of their age. These attitudes for mental illness from the police to 988 is a joke, they have inexperienced kids answering phones. We are trying to stop him from doing something which will only lead him down a worse path (jail or prison) rape or drugs. It is a shame😞They leave it up to the sick person to make decisions to come in. Yea right!

Having no health insurance for a year 2 years ago meant no medications for lifelong mental health needs. This place helped me 3 times that year. Prescriptions were called in to a less expensive local pharmacy following in-depth triage, health check, and short appt with kind, qualified doctor. Life saver. Do not hesitate…just go. And tell your friends. Spread the word. On the spot help in timely fashion. In today’s world that qualifies as miraculous.

Our autistic son was having a psychiatric emergency. We came here late at night and they didn't have anyone on staff to provide the emergency psychiatric care we needed. The staff was compassionate and gave us as much information and advice they could. One staff member even called different emergency rooms in the area to see if there was an alternative. The next morning we arrived right when they opened. There's a bit of a long process, with good reason. They bent over backwards to help us in our intense need. The level of concern and compassion during our extremely challenging time was very appreciated. I wish I could express how much better things are for us, just 3 days later. We are so grateful. UPDATE 2+ Years later: Our son is still doing great 😃. He has his rough spots here and there, but that's to be expected. I occasionally think back to how bleak things were for months on end and I can't believe how far he's come.

Everybody here has been very helpful, patient, and understanding with me. Always expect a bit of a wait. The first time I went in I didn't expect to be here so long, but I also checked in after 4pm. Today I went in around 3 and got out by 5, which was pretty fast compared to last time. The staff are compassionate and are LTGBQ allies, and have helped me to get my psychiatric medication as well as set up an appointment to establish care after switching insurance. The wait can be annoying so come prepared with a backup battery and maybe snacks. It's not a quick in-and-out but they are incredibly helpful.

Immediate in-person care for mental health issues is very rare. This is a good option when the suicide hotline isn't enough. I showed up with no previously diagnosed condition and without knowing what I wanted, just asking for help. They were very helpful
