Pediatric Emergency Department and Urgent Care at Denver Health

We brought in our 15 month old tonight - our first ER visit as parents and first time at Denver Health. The hospital was very secure and clean. The registration was friendly and attentive. We got seen right away from the pediatric waiting area (which was large and clean). It was really nice that the area was separate from general emergency. But most of all we were very impressed by all of the staff we interacted with. The nurses and doctors were so sweet with our little one and very thorough for what ended up being a minor issue- thank you so much to Bradley, Dr. Ramirez and Dr. Mar! Taking care of kiddos takes special people and they went above and beyond! I would absolutely go back and recommend this to all my friends with kids.

Denver Health Peds Emergency is the ONLY place I bring my kids to after hours as it's also a 24 hour urgent care. This is the best hospital in the area in terms of resources--if your kid has to be admitted they will be able to handle whatever it is. If you just have an urgent care need in the middle of the night, like croup or something, it's billed as an urgent care visit to your insurance--even at 2am. This is one of the biggest teaching hospitals, so your child has more than one MD on their case, the resident and the attending which is great. I've asked the attending to take a second look before. They do such a great job keeping the kids safe, and during the holidays they handed out presents. I almost cried. I believe this is funding by the Denver Health Foundation. I love bringing food and treats to the staff during the holidays, ER doctors and nurses never have time to eat. They are the best and are here for us 24/7.

Called at 4:30am on 3-9-2026 to talk to someone about bringing my partner in for a severe asthma attack, all the other urgent cares were closed at this time and we were in a pretty big panic trying to find somewhere quickly. The "super kind" lady that I talked to on the phone proceeded to hang up on me when I told her we didn't have current insurance and asked what it would entail for a walk in. Please DONT waste your time with this place if you have a real emergency.

Fantastic urgent care for kids. They got us in and out so quick. My 6yr old is adhd and autistic. Doctors and exams are always difficult for my son. They were very understanding , an amazing with him. Very kind staff!

We came with our family to Pediatric Emergency Department, our son had signs of appendicitis and we were sitting there for five hours waiting for ultrasound, the nurses all said we are in line 3 as they would be closer together and so just to sit in waiting for one ultrasound room in such a large hospital, EPIC….
