Being in healthcare myself, I can say this place is awful. First, we were in a room then got moved out to the hallway. My family member has dementia, let me say that. They moved her out in the hallway with no call light. Came to get her for a scan and left the bed as high as it can go. Super lucky she had someone with her as this could’ve turned out ugly. After 4 hours of being in the hallway, I finally said something after asking for something for pain an hour prior and nobody coming to help her. The bed side manners of these nurses are awful. The patient care here is awful. Steer clear of this ER if at all possible. I will say though, the doctors were spectacular!

Currently 19 weeks pregnant and was visiting to get checked out from being in a minor car crash. I informed the check in staff and still waited for over an hour to be seen. Please if you have an emergency go elsewhere UNMC does not care about their patients and these other negative reviews and can attest to that *Update. I waited for an hour, just for them the bring me back to a bed IN THE HALLWAY with people/patients walking by the entire time. a doctor came and checked my baby's heartbeat after an hour of laying awkwardly in the hallway with random people passing by with my stomach showing. She said she would bring me a Tylenol for pain and speak with other doctors to see if they want to keep me for observation. this was 45 minutes ago. I am updating this post as I am still on a bed in the hallway; not in an actual room like everyone else has been placed. I hear a bunch of nurses and security people yapping away at the desk. at this point I'd rather they give me my paperwork and send me home. if this visit warrants a $1000 bill I will surely call and let them know my experience and exactly what happened.

I do not recommend UNMC emergency whatsoever. Yesterday I was there for 2 hours before even being called back. They gave me no iv fluids, no Tylenol or ibuprofen after have a fever for 48 hours and not having any fluids and when I did get back there they left me for 40 more minutes before even coming in I had no call light and the only thing they did was a respiratory test that tested for 19 things and said they would call with the results it normally takes two hours so while I’m on my death bed all day yesterday and last night after not receiving a phone call from them 20 HOURS LATER !!! so I call them today shortly after noon and come to find out I have influenza B And I have went down these reviews and you guys say the same this is not okay call us at blah blah blah how about just fixing it and doing better ! All I am saying is if you take things like this seriously you would be fixing it

My husband fractured his arm, and we waited in the waiting room for 2.5 hours without any medication or assistance. After finally being taken to a room, we waited another 3.5 hours, during which the doctors and nurses showed very poor bedside manner and unprofessional attitudes. After being discharged this morning, we have spent the entire day trying to get his prescription filled, but due to rotating doctors and missing information on their end, we still haven’t been able to. Overall, this has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

My experience with this emergency room was terrible. I was being seen for severe anxiety/flu like symptoms. As soon as I arrived they had me fill out paperwork and then left me in a wheelchair in the waiting room. Where I then had a panic attack and couldn't feel my body and I had to yell for help multiple times before someone came out and asked me what I needed. I was in severe distress and they refused to put me in a room until I peed in a cup. I will never go back to this hospital for the fact they did not care about my mental health nor my well being. Worst hospital experience ever. I felt neglected and not safe what so ever.
