(Let me be clear, this was a few years ago) I went here because I was having periodic ringing in my head / ear (somewhat painful) after so long I figured I should see someone. I showed up here, I seen a BLACK male doctor( yes that part is important I'll get to it) I told him my symptoms, told him I thought something had crawled in my ear (his attitude from the start was off) he looked in my ear and grimaced turned up his face like someone threw up in his food, I let it go cuz I figured oh well something's in my ear then he tells me there's nothing in there (I'm hella confused) cuz I saw his face, I'm like sir are you sure there's nothing in my ear. His immediate response was I can't prescribe you any DRUGS, now I'm flabbergasted (I'm a former addict) so although it's embarrassing to say I will for the sake of this review my teeth were in poor state. But it don't seem to bother me as much as it bothers others( I'm assuming that's where the Judgment came from. like I was really in there looking for dope) the way I see it the Lord took my teeth let me keep my life. So anyway after that I just felt defeated and embarrassed I walked out with my head down. Fast forward a year my ear is so full of gunk I can see it I go back to this place and explain to the lady at the front counter also BLACK told her my issue told her I didn't have to have this issue because I came in here a year ago and I was sent away feeling defeated so not only do I want to see another doctor I want to file a complaint against the doctor I previously seen and told her why, well I never filed that complaint she did any and everything to discourage me ask me plenty of questions like what was the doctor's name, on what date did i come and I know for sure my medical records are right in the computer. Who I seen, what time I showed up, what my symptoms were and she was typing God knows what into her computer and at this point I'm pretty sure she was erasing information but she did this until it was time for me to go back and see the doctor.. So I'm in the exam room I tell the doctors what's happening they go in dig some stuff out of my ear they can't identify (had the appearance of cotton) had another nurse come in and try to flush it out so I told her to be careful cuz it feels like she's poking a stick in my ear she tells me with confidence an arrogance well it shouldn't hurt, I tell her you guys can't even tell me what you're picking out of my ear or what's wrong with it so maybe whatever it is that's why it's so painful. She literally repeated the exact same thing to me like it just popped up off the top of her brain.. And you're probably asking why am I writing this after so long well because I'm still going to the doctor for this year later and I believe that if i received proper care the first time I wouldn't be going to the doctor every 3 or 4 months and if I would have acted immediately and spoke up for myself then I could have made him take some responsibility. and now I'm going to other doctors for other issues and I'm experiencing some of the same lack of care. I'm tired of black folks receiving such a minimum care with absolutely no concern or compassion from the people we have to receive it from I mentioned both the receptionist and the doctor was black. (WHY) because even black doctors we should feel safe with have learned to treat us poorly because we are the people that it's tolerated with so they can be absolutely lazy. UPDATE 06/17/26 They (whomever they is) responsed underneath this review and they left a phone number for customer relations, is just FOR SHOW I've called no answer nor do they return your phone calls ....

Dr. Nguyen and his team at UMC Hospital provided an उत्कृष्ट level of care. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine respect. Dr. Nguyen took the time to thoroughly address my concerns and ensured I felt informed and comfortable throughout the process. Diane and the rest of the staff were equally outstanding—courteous, responsive, and highly attentive to my needs. Their teamwork and dedication to patient care truly stood out. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen and his staff to anyone seeking quality medical care.

If you’re looking for actual patient care, think twice before visiting UMC Quick Care. My experience on 3/28/26 with Dr. Michael R Kane was one of the most unprofessional medical interactions I’ve ever had. Before even entering the room, I could hear him in the hallway making assumptions. Within minutes of stepping in, he asked only a couple of vague questions and attempted to send us away, without conducting any meaningful evaluation. We explained that the hospital had directed us there, yet he refused to listen and insisted we leave and go back. When we tried to advocate for ourselves, his tone escalated to the point where he called us “stupid” and walked out mid-conversation. No care. No assessment. Just dismissal. What made this even more concerning was the repeated, inaccurate assumptions he made about our relationship, despite being corrected. These comments had nothing to do with the medical issue and came across as biased and completely inappropriate in a healthcare setting. There was a nurse present who appeared visibly uncomfortable during the interaction, which only reinforced how unacceptable this behavior was. She even apologized for him afterwards, and you can clearly tell she wanted to say more but could not in fear of being retaliated against. We left without receiving care, yet were still charged. That’s not just frustrating, it’s unacceptable. Patients deserve to be heard, evaluated, and treated with professionalism and respect. This experience did not meet even the most basic standard of care. I strongly encourage leadership to review this incident.

Staff in the back was fine. Nurses and doctor were fine. The lady at the font desk Jamie had a terrible attitude. The kiosks wasn’t working properly when trying to check in ( wouldn’t let me click start) no matter how much I was clicking the screen. Waited patiently to the side while she was helping someone else. When she asked me what I needed and I told her it wasn’t working she gave me an eye roll and a sigh of ugh like it was such an inconvenience for her.

On a recent visit to the Sunset location of UMC Quickcare, I had an incredibly positive experience from start to finish. Everyone I encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. This includes the admission reps, Monica and Myrna, as well as our triage nurse, Chris, and our doctor, Dr. David Wynn. We are incredibly appreciative for the great service and kindness shown!
