I sought care at this facility after experiencing excruciating pain throughout my entire body along with a widespread red rash. Unfortunately, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, and the level of attention given to my symptoms was very disappointing. During my visit, the physician appeared to be guessing at the cause of my symptoms, suggesting bug bites on my arms and folliculitis on my legs. The only testing performed was basic blood work, and I was told that because this is a standalone facility, additional testing could not be completed. I left feeling unheard, frustrated, and still in significant pain. I was prescribed antibiotics for a presumed bacterial skin infection, but my symptoms remained unexplained. Concerned about my condition, I scheduled an appointment with my primary care physician the same day. My PCP was able to properly evaluate my symptoms, diagnose me with strep throat, and prescribe the appropriate treatment. I understand that not every diagnosis is immediately obvious, but I expected a more thorough evaluation and greater consideration of my symptoms. My experience left me feeling dismissed at a time when I was seeking help for a serious health concern.

This survey does not reflect my experience with Nurse Jesus, he was extremely helpful and nurturing. He was a great listener, was personable, and helped me ease chest pains from anxiety with a simple education on a breathing technique. I can tell that he really cares. The next half of my experience was with another male nurse, I cannot recall the name, however I do recall that it starts with an N, and he has ear length dark hair, middle aged White man. First, this specific nurse challenged me on my preferred arm for a catheter. I told him, I prefer my left, and he remarked in a sarcastic manner that they usually do the "dominant side". After I made choice, this nurse inserted a catheter into my left arm, to where I notified him that it was painful. He then challenged me when I asked if there can be an adjustment made, because the plastic part was digging into my skin at the point of insertion. He made the small adjustment (reluctantly). 3 hours in my visit, I used the remote to call a nurse it, because by this time, my arm was in so much pain that it went numb. This same nurse attended to the call, I told him about my pain, (he did not ask, and never did during this encounter). After telling him about my pain, he says "well you have a needle in you arm" in a sarcastic manner. I let him know (sternly) that I have had catheters in this very place that have never hurt. At this point, he made an intention to untape the catheter and move it lower. Truthfully, I don't believe it was placed with careful consideration to begin with, as I mentioned, I have had catheters in this arm before that have been pain free. With this experience alone, I will never trust this methodist ER location with my health and safety. There is a lot more on this experience, but this made priority. So much for the care in healthcare. God bless Jesus for the work he does and the positive difference he makes.

Review: Houston Methodist Emergency Care Rating: 4/5 The initial experience at this facility was excellent. The facility was easy to access, and I was very impressed with the staff. Both the nurses and the nurse practitioner were incredibly compassionate and made me feel well-cared for during my visit. However, I was disappointed with the lack of follow-up care. Since being discharged, I haven't received a single phone call to check on my recovery or discuss next steps. While the bedside care was top-notch, the post-visit communication definitely has room for improvement.

Excellent Care. I had fallen in a bathtub. On a Sunday morning I was driven to Methodist Emergency Care on Kirby. 10 minutes after arriving, I was being seen by a nurse and MD. A brief time thereafter I was wheeled into Radiology for C-rays and CT scans. They reviewed my situation, the doctor gave me meds, and a prescription, and less than 2 hours after arrival, I was discharged with a care plan. Very impressive turnaround from a caring, well-qualified crew.

Moderate to severe pain in my gut took me to the Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center where I was received quickly and after a rapid triage was given a CAT scat with contrast that revealed a partial blockage of an old colon resection. The staff was first rate and their professionalism was welcome.
