Very quick, prompt service with a smile at the front desk. Great, friendly MA , and the PA was nice, gave me my diagnosis, ask if I had any questions. I felt if I would have had questions he would have patiently listened. Before I left, my pharmacy text , they had already received the medication ‼️ AWESOME !

This is my third visit to this urgent care. It’s convenient and close to home. I have previously felt like they didn’t do enough to address my concerns, but my visit yesterday was awful. I have fairly low blood pressure normally (90/70). Manual cuffs pump up to 200+ and it is painful. I usually ask for them to do my blood pressure manually to avoid the pain and most people are happy to accommodate. I asked the lady who took my vitals to please take it manually and responded she didn’t even know where one was and proceeded to place the automatic cuff on my arm. Went through the whole process, no read. I asked again. She moved the cuff to my other arm and said, if this doesn’t work, I’ll look for a manual cuff. My symptoms: Non productive cough for 3 weeks that turned productive 24 hours earlier. Chest congestion and severe shortness of breath. Roommate dx with bronchitis 4 days earlier. My visit: Provider Ryan came in and immediately started rapid firing questions. Why hadn’t I gone to my primary doctor instead of UC? I explained that that my primary doctor on maternity leave, but that I also did not have the means to get that far as I do not have a vehicle. I also expressed that since the cough had not been productive, I attributed it to allergies which wasn’t a reason to go to the doctor. She asked me if I had scheduled a follow up. A follow up for after this urgent care visit? I told her I had left work and come directly to UC. I didn’t stop to make an appointment at 6:30 on a Friday eventing. She asked again about my symptoms, and when I continued to express in broken words and through coughing fits that I felt like I could not catch my breath she said very matter-of-factly, “well your pulse ox was fine. So you’re getting plenty of oxygen.” She repeatedly asked me questions that confirmed she was not listening to anything I said. She did no texts or swabs of any kind, or a chest xray. When my brief appointment ended I asked that my prescriptions be sent to the Kroger across the street. I then ask the doctor if she will be willing to call over and see if they could possibly fill the script for me prior to closing at 7pm. I knew it was a longshot, however, it never hurts to ask and the sooner I could take my medicine the better. It also would prevent me from trying to find a ride the following day when they reopened to get my prescription and having to get out while sick. Her response, “It’s gonna take five minutes to send this prescription over there and they’re probably already closed anyway they’re not gonna stay for you.” I arrived at UC and checked in just after 6:30pm. I was one of 2 people in the waiting room. They were very visibly dead. When I was taken back, most of the doors were open, leading me to believe that there were not patients in them. The two people who cared for me other than the front desk ladies (who were great), acted like I was the biggest inconvenience of their day. Like somehow, by showing up sick to a place that is supposed to provide care for me, that I ruined their day. No one should be treated like this when seeking medical care. Ryan Goings treated me as if I was a drug seeker or someone coming in about a paper cut. Which by the way, I believe these people should still be treated with dignity because they are humans.

The staff on site are helpful and welcoming. It didn’t take long to get in and be diagnosed. However we had big problems with getting the prescription delivered digitally to the pharmacy they selected. We arrived at the pharmacy and there was no digital prescription. We left for our hotel and waited until the next day and called to ask if they could release it to a pharmacy closer to us. They could, but there was no digital prescription. Called back again and a rude unpleasant woman answered the phone and was extremely cross and told us "she couldn’t send the prescription to every pharmacy in Indianapolis" with no understanding of our situation. We only wanted to try and figure out what was happening with the prescription and how we could fix it. The lady on the other end was literally scolded us and were to no help. I feel sorry for everyone that has to live with this solution to health care - and it is a massive culture shock coming from Northern-Europe. Hopefully we’ll never need to experience this again.

In the event on of a non-life threatening emergency, IU Urgent Care was a great resource. I am an out of towner, needing care during a holiday weekend. UI was open, service and care team was great, quick. I received a clear dx and was able to pick up rx same day.

Healthcare providers aren’t what they used to be. First I’m clinical myself so I hate when I come into contact with healthcare professionals that just don’t listen. I asked for a blood test due being exposed for mold. It could have helped test for allergens. I was given a chest x-ray and topical cream for what she said was acne. My daughter got a blood test for mold at the minute clinic at CVS. That’s where I should have went. Total waste of time. I wish I felt more comfortable sticking up for myself for the treatment I pay for, now instead of paying one doctor I have to pay 3. This is exactly why people don’t go to the dr. It’s really becoming a bunch of people up for a money grab. The NP had good enough bedside manner but for some reason just because she was treated for a fungal lung infection in the past she thought the allergen blood test was unnecessary for me. Quality of care complaint submitted.
