Tamara Brown 6 months agoY’all know I only gave a ⭐️ so I can tell y’all how trash/thrown together/disrespectful this place is. This place has no sense of URGENCY, CLEANLINESS, or RESPECT no matter what state you arrive in‼️‼️‼️There were people everywhere in wheel chairs, people in pain just waiting exceeding long amounts of time to be seen, they send you through TRIAGE 2/3 times for absolutely NOTHING‼️ This place was not clean the bathroom was in HORRIBLE condition. I came here about 8am. I am writing this while still waiting at 11am. There seems to be no hospital rooms for the patients. The patients are sick/throwing up in barf bags , rolling around with IV’s hanging out of their arms, and drip bags sitting along side of them as they wait. They draw blood on the hospital floors in front of everyone, the discuss your issues/problems in front of all the waiting patients. Elderly just out here on the floor with oxygen, pain, moans , uncomfortably thrown into wheelchairs and sat for long periods of time. They had me perform my own SWABS. I was always told not to come to this hospital and I now see why. NEVER AGAIN….I will drive all the way to DUKE before I trust or come to this HELL HOLE… you will absolutely be in worse conditions.
Paul Cash 4 months agoI received wonderful care during my recent stay at WakeMed. I’m so grateful for everything each team member did for me. Every person I met brought not only skill and professionalism but also a bright, genuine compassion that lifted my spirits. What really stood out was how many different caregivers I saw throughout the day, yet every transition felt smooth and reassuring. Each new face came with the same kindness and energy, creating a comforting flow that made me feel consistently supported. It was truly impressive — and it made a huge difference in my experience.
VioletBlueGreenRed 2 weeks agoCame to ER w very complex medical history and new blood clot. Vascular said it was a chronic clot- when it wasn't on any imaging 2 weeks ago. ER was a hot mess. Waited 15 hours before being able to lay down. Hospitalist team not competent in the least and gaslit with my situation. Hematologist fresh out of fellowship and very dismissive. Told me I could go home and then kept me overnight again. Was told they would call me to discuss and never called. Hospital didn't have all of my meds- continued to give what they did have- which dropped my blood pressure too low because I didn't have my other meds. Voiced concern to the attending doctor and he just dismissed it. The only good thing was the day nurse in the ER once I finally got a bed- and the day and night nurse once I finally got transferred to an actual room. I felt like I was in a war zone waiting in the area before going to the ER bed. It was incredibly crowded- and the doctors discuss your medical care right in front of other patients with sometimes only a sole curtain in between so you can hear everything. Doctors wrote wrong information in their notes as well. What a place in shambles.
James Sawyer 3 weeks agoMy wife was admitted into the medical icu for a week. They could not come up with a reason she was experiencing the inability to be awakened even through a pain response. They released her with antibiotics and a diagnosis on COPD. Or maybe pneumonia. They weren't sure. Three days later she died on our kitchen floor. I think it was reckless of them to release her without a reasonable explanation as to her reason for being there. I do believe they let her out because she was a medicaid patient and they don't make enough money. Some anonymous administrator probably told them to kick her to the street. I am still mulling over a lawsuit for this malpractice. I would recommend anyone to choose Duke over wakemed.
Amber Pierce 3 weeks agoThey went above and beyond to find the spot on my neck at the top of my spine. And they have treated me since then with top of the line care. It's very appreciated
