I went to the Tosa Urgent Care center today for a for a respiratory problem. I was Extremely impressed with Samantha and Der Yang APNP! Not only were they Extremely Competent , Professional, and Courteous, they were also Very KIND!!! Thank you!

My mom came in for a shingles diagnosis and hoping for a prescription for the large amount of uncomfortable pain she was in. She was in tears and sobbing and no one working there cared to help her. The doctor who met with her was also extremely rude and asked her if she’s a “googler,” referring to her rash and symptoms, like he didn’t believe her that it is shingles… (it was). Unnecessary and unprofessional comment.

I injured my back Monday night. I went to the urgent care due to extreme pain. After xrays that I actually cried through, it was determined to be a muscle strain/severe arthritis in my lower back. I was prescribed nothing for pain... not interested in heavy narcotics but needed something light for a couple of days. 24 hours later the pain is horrible. I called for some kind of relief. I was told the doctor who treated me was off today and that the doctors working today probably won't help me because they didn't treat me. The nurse then told me to see my primary in a week! I have already missed 3 days of work. Horrible horrible experience with them. Ultimately I told the nurse out of pain and frustration to just forget it and hung up on her. I have followed the doctor instructions and it is useless. The doctor is Kirsten Larson.. she should be putting stickers on fruit in a grocery store. Not caring for people.

Not sure about these whiner reviews here. Usually you get back what you put into something. Anyway, I had arrived about 10 mins. prior to the Sunday 8 a.m. opening hour. Sunday December 29th. You would have thought that there was some kind of bargain sale going on! Wow. That many sickies, including me?! They're jockeying their position to be up front and center. Approaching the only one reception woman working (What ails you? The check in reception desk), we had a pleasant exchange and I was already on my way to be cared for. Upon being called into a patient room by M.A. Mirat (spelling?), we exchanged cordial greetings as well. Here comes the waiting in the patient room game part. So, this is after she had taken my vitals and entered my "medical complaints" into their computer's system. After several minutes waiting, Dr. Hill (she) was great to have a meaningful dialogue with. She listened quite well. I am very happy, and feel confident I was placed on the right treatment course. I came in for like a stomach flu (diarrhea). There's a doctor shortage, unfortunately. Good luck seeing your primary care doctor on a short notice. Urgent Care, exactly what it says.

I waited in the lobby for over 1 hour and 15 minutes just to be seen, when I was told on the phone the wait would be 30 minutes. Myself and everyone else who came in while I waited were told by the receptionist that the wait time was nearly 3 hours, including people who were on time for their appointment. The excuse was that it was like "reservations at a restaurant", which as another patient waiting next to me pointed out, makes no sense. There were only 4 patients waiting when I arrived. Four out of six people who arrived after me left after being told the wait time, without the receptionist even checking if it had changed, or inquiring why they were there. Walk-ins were told they could not make an appointment and come back instead of waiting, which means they were forced to wait there even if they showed up on time. The receptionist was very short and curt with the people who would walk in, obscured her identity by wearing her ID behind her back, and engaged in racially charged discussion with coworkers within earshot of waiting patients. The medical staff refused to take my complaint seriously, and instead told me I would have to address my issue with a primary care physician. They refused to take x-rays, saying the lab was closed, even though I had just overheard them sending another patient for x-rays. They told me they did not accept my insurance, even though my insurance sent me there. It seems like the staff at this facility just don't care and don't want to do their jobs. If they help people at all, it is kept to a minimum and done very slowly. Total time spent from arrival to departure was 2 hours 45 minutes, of which only about 15 minutes was actually spent with any medical staff. The doctor refused to speak with me again before I left, issue a work restriction, or address any additional questions or concerns. All things considered, I would say this is a very unprofessional facility, and would recommend anyone needing urgent care to not seek treatment at this location.
