This place is by far the worst child care facility I have ever been to. My wife and I just recently took our son here to get checked because he has been coughing constantly and has had a extremely large build up of mucus and congestion. Now this isn't the 1st time we've been here. There has been 2 other instances where we brought our 9 month old in to get checked out and they just looked him over and tried to give their educated guess of which was wrong with him which in these cases they responded, oh he's fine he's probably just got a common cold. Well thank God we chose to go to the E.R. our son has pneumonia! This is his second time with it since February. Both times CHKD urgent care just let this slip right by them. How could they miss this not once but twice. They did chest x- rays on both occasions and dismissed it. If I could rate this place with negative stars they would get a -10. Which brings me to this... parents if you value your child's well being please take them to the E.R. because wasting your time with this place could end up resulting in your child losing their precious life behind the malpractice and negligence this place serves you with....

As far as urgent care clinics go, this one is top-notch. Incredibly efficient admin, seen just shortly after we got there, friendly staff, competent nurses and doctors. If you’re looking for an urgent care in Hampton Roads, this has to be your first choice.

I have worked in health care over 30 years and I was absolutely impressed at how this team worked. From check in being friendly to an amazing doctor taking his time to explain what is happening with my 1 year old grandson to the guard that watched us out. Everyone was amazing! And I should mention I got there 30 minutes before close and still got this amazing care 🥰

Took my 8-month-old son here due to persistent cold symptoms and audible chest rattling. His lungs were auscultated and I was told everything was normal. As a nurse, I trusted the evaluation at the time. One week later, my son developed a 103°F fever. I took him to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. I strongly encourage parents to seek thorough evaluation when symptoms persist or worsen, and to trust their instincts if something does not seem right. They seem like they care to an extent, but this could of had a way worse outcome with my son if I did not follow up with an ER visit.

Absolutely terrible experience. My husband brought in our 18 month old last night because we were afraid she ruptured her eardrum with a foreign object at daycare. They arrived around 6:30 and waited over 2 hours to be seen, and were actually the last people in the waiting room. Upon seeing the provider, they were told my daughter “probably” ruptured her ear drum but they couldn’t tell because of all of the blood in her ear. They also said they didn’t have the right instruments to check, and she just needed to see a specialist. In previous visits, they absolutely had the instruments to check her eardrum and I find it really hard to believe this is not something an urgent care could verify. My husband said he felt like he was being rushed out. It’s incredibly disappointing to have waited with a small toddler for so long and receive this level of care. It shouldn’t matter whether you are the first or last person seen. I will be filing a grievance with my health insurance company.
