Today I brought my daughter to this location because I have always thought highly of and trusted the Sentara brand. In the past I have experienced thorough and efficient service in a timely manner. Today, this was not the case. When we arrived, the young man behind the desk (Daniel) was very pleasant and let us know that there was an extended wait. He was exceptional! But, I heard this time and time again as more patients approached the desk. The wait was approximately 2 hours by the time she was called back. She has been back there for 2 hours now and I texted her to see if there was an update. I learned that she still has not been seen or evaluated by the MD/NP. She stated that the only swabbed her nose when she first went back and hasn’t seen or spoken to anyone since. Once I learned this, I decided to take a look at the reviews. Granted there are numerous 5 star reviews which is how I felt about Sentara prior to this experience. But more importantly that vast majority of the 1 star reviews centered around prolonged wait times and not just a few minutes. I got the impression that several patients experienced prolonged time in the exam room with no interaction with the staff. The purpose of my review is simple, people seeking your assistant/guidance/services should not be waiting in the exam room for over two hours before being evaluated by the MD/NP. The initial interaction with the RN or team member is not the MD/NP. If staffing is the issue, maybe that is something that should be addressed with the higher ups, because people deserve better. I watched several people walk out because of wait times. To say that our experience was anything short of a disappointment would be an understatement.

All the nurses were great Danielle, Jestine, Savanna, Kara, Toney, Larry and Jason and all that worked that second floor. House keeping was right on time and did an excellent job. Doctors explained everything so I could understand what was going to happen and what the end results would be.My stay was the best I have ever had in a hospital. Thanks to all Peter E Raggi

Came in to be seen for a finger injury. Doctor didn't even come in until an hour after my appointment. Then she informed me that they don't have the ability to do xray nor did any of the other locations. The person at the front desk couldn't have told me that when I was checking in instead of making me wait an hour in the room for no reason? Half of urgent care is xray so I don't understand why they don't have that available but now I have to be seen in a busy ER and wait even longer. Thanks

This location sucks. The receptionist rudely told me to have a seat and wait until she calls me up to check in while she talked with one guy about his insurance for 30 minutes. Then she decides to make a phone call while 2 other patients came in and that’s when she finally decided to call me up. I’m going to get her name but she was awful and yall need to fire her. I would think patient check-ins at an urgent care would be first priority!

I decided I needed to leave a review after my horrible 5–10 minute visit, and I feel my health issues are okay to share. I’m not exaggerating—my visit literally lasted 5–10 minutes. First, I don’t understand why they have you check in with your name, address, phone number, and reason for visit if they’re just going to ask you all that again at check-in. I came in for ear issues, facial pressure, and vertigo. They told me I needed to go to the emergency room because they don’t do blood work there, along with some other things, which honestly felt like a money tactic. I’ve never been to an urgent care that couldn’t at least do basic blood work. I went to Patient First down the street. They did the blood work, listened to my symptoms, diagnosed a sinus infection, and gave me antibiotics. I noticed a difference within three hours of starting the medication. This location was terrible. If you can, I’d recommend going to Patient First instead.
